Indianapolis, IN - June 21, 2003   Show & Tell

Original release: July 2003

Brent Sehnert showed a red letter Woody Woodpecker glass from
Mexico, with other various Walter Lantz characters on the glass. The name was "El Parego Loco". Also he showed a small size McDonald's action series
glass, smaller than the common Libbey glass size, with a 1982 date. Probably a sample for the embossed bottom set.

Also shown was a Lady and the Tramp set of 5, small multicolor glasses with Walt Disney Productions on them, from France. A very scarce and beautiful foreign Disney set.

Fred Stepanian described two sets of 4 from Six Flags that had
Warner Brothers Characters, and also single Superman and Batman glasses. These are new glasses from the amusement park. Contact Fred if interested in obtaining these glasses, as he plans on returning before the park
closes for the year.

Carl Sehnert discussed the mystery glass in the auction, Sylvester Sidewinder.

John Foster discussed the Dairy Cheer Pepsi glasses, and described a conversation that he had with the owner of the chain. The owner wanted to have food at the restaurant and bought out the franchise, and changed the name to Dairy Cheer and added food. He had nine restaurants in Kentucky. The glass that is supposed to exist, but has not been found, is Catlettsburg, KY.

Brian Callahan showed several pieces of Arizona Cactus dinnerware, that
matches the Arizona Cactus frosted ice teas, from Blakely. He also showed a Twister movie glass from ILM that was discussed in an issue of CGN several years ago, an Elinor Donahue glass from a regional "Waldo Astoria"
play, a clear Bill Flores variation glass that Brent Sehnert was kind enough to sell to him, and a Tipper/Gloria glass from the Little Lulu set, that was on a different lipped jelly glass blank. Also shown was the 2000 box set
of Indianapolis 500/Brickyard 400 car race with two rocks glasses, and a decanter with stopper. These were given as Christmas presents by the Hulman/George family who owns the Indianapolis Motor Speedway and who have distributed the official Indy 500 glasses over the last 50 years.

Respectfully submitted, Brian Callahan
